Profitz' Podcast # 2: Unmasking The Man

Faithful adventurers of Azeroth, today we shall ride together, swords and magi alike, and slay our hideous foes and bathe ourselves in the warmth of their crimson entrails while counting endless piles of loot... ok ok...not so much, but I did record my second podcast!  *smirks*

In this ~25 min. podcast I cover the following:
  • New Recording Equipment
  • My Gold Making Status & Lessons Learned
  • Why a Donations Button??
  • Artwork
  • Community Q&A
With the last podcast, some folks were unable to play from the first bar so I added the second from Soundcloud to expand the audience and allow everyone to give ear.  Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Podcast # 2:  Unmasking the Man

Soundcloud Player (Yes, the pic I use of the clown is Goldwise...I mean Pennywise from Stephen King's IT.  Great flick/book.  I use this avatar on several sites.  Don't I look super 'friendly' ?)

As always, I look forward to hearing your feedback.  Become an active member of this resource site and reach out to me.

  1. If you do a search like 83/84/i364 or 77/79/i272 in TSM you shouldn't get any craftables. the 85 and 80 searches are more troublesome lol.

I like podcasts once a week, I enjoy listening while playing WoW, your voice reminds me of a radio DJ, very smooth and easy to listen to. Keep up the good work, love what you're coming out with!

    1. Thanks Phats for the comment and the info on the podcast frequency. I'm digging this snowball mic now and the setup I have downstairs. Although I would like to beef up the laptop I'm running it off of. Maybe I'll rebuild a desktop and re-provision it as a podcast recording studio.

  2. Hi Profitz,
Just wanted to extend you a welcome to the WOW Gold-Making community. I enjoyed both of your podcasts. I have a few podcasts that I am working on to add to my blogsite as well. I hope you will allow me to put you in my favorite links for my readers to visit your site. :) I look forward to building a great WOWBlog friendship :) Thanks again :)

    1. Xtreme - thanks for listening and commenting! It's nice to see people posting their feedback and enjoying the series. I have so much to learn with the whole podcasting ordeal but it's coming along and will get there. On the website link to my blog, certainly do. The more traffic the better. I'll post a mutual link also if you send me your site details. Be well.

  3. Another great show. Thanks for the shout out! I really like a show once a week as well. I am looking forward to hearing some of your guests. I generally like a show better when there are at least 2 people on as it gives a nice dynamic when they can just talk to each other. However as Phat Lewts pointed out, you have a great voice for this. The show flows very well and it never seems like you are rambling on. You obviously put a lot of prep work into the show so that it flows smoothly. I think you have done an excellent job here. Well done, keep up the good work, and I look forward to what comes out in the future!

    1. Thanks bro. I look forward to the day (coming pretty fast) that I too will have reached the 1/2 million gold marker. Wait, I think it looks better spelling it out: 500,000 gold!! NICE! Thanks for the comment/compliments. As time goes on, I'll get better and better. My brother is a musician so I'll be working with him on some customized intro-music. So much to come...thanks for listening.

  4. Hey Profitz, really loving the podcast .O/
I used to use a number of spreadsheets, searches, and scans. However TSM no longer requires you to scan, could you touch on the new functions and uses of TSM. Also could you possibly get insight on where to start.
    Cheers from Germany!

    1. Hi Tau, thanks for the comment and listening in. Awesome to see it's reached overseas to Germany!

TSM has a great external application now which does a backend update to the AuctionDB file every hour. Never mind the additional features it has to do deal finding list alerts/notifications and Wowuction updates. This app by itself is awesome since you don't have to spend the time scanning the AH and sitting idle.

Details about this can be found at the TradeSkillMaster App Website

I certainly can review it as well and it will be a part of the details I explain in my gold guide coming soon. Be well my friend.

  5. A raw MP3 link would be nice as both of the players you have there don't let you adjust the volume.

    1. Thanks Jim. I'll look into adding that for the next show coming up. I'm still looking for a decent permanent home that won't restrict me for storage/bandwidth. I might end up just hosting them myself and serving them up with my own code the way I want for long term use. In regards to the volume, as a compensating control you can always bump up the OS volume a tad too. Thanks for comments! I enjoyed your show with Rawrcast last night and today's live stream.

    2. I had some listeners and myself experience playback stopping on the Archive.org embedded player. I looked for a solution and ended up using the free Yahoo! WebPlayer.

The shows are still hosted and served by archive.org but the Yahoo! WebPlayer is a much more solid playback solution.

    3. Awesome Jim! I'll look into that. The podcasts on your site are very easy to play and I love the player too.
